Nicholas Forster
For a biography of Bill Gunn
Nicholas Forster is a lecturer in African American Studies and Film & Media Studies at Yale University. His essays on American cinema, race, performance, and archives have been published in Film Quarterly, Black Camera, liquid blackness, the Village Voice, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. Bill Gunn was one of the first five directors hired by a major Hollywood studio and remains a foundational figure in the development of post-war theatre and film.
