Brand Guide Lines
Brand guidelines serve as a roadmap for how your brand is presented across all platforms and materials. They ensure consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging – helping everyone who represents the brand (from designers to writers) create a cohesive and recognizable identity. By outlining key elements like logo use, color palette, typography, and voice, brand guidelines protect the integrity of your brand and help it communicate clearly and professionally at every touchpoint.
Adding a News post
Have your assets done before you begin this tutorial:
• Feature image (size 600 x 600 pixels, or 1:1 ratio)
• Author image(s) and links, if necessary
• News title, excerpt and full description
• A source link, if applicable
The assets done for the news section launch of this website are located in this Drop Box folder.
Adding an Event
Events are added in two steps; First, a Product has to be created in order for the checkout process to work. Second, we create the Event, where we add the Event information, then link the product to it.
Have your assets done before you begin this tutorial:
• Banner image (size 2130 x 1200 pixels)
• Event title (please include in the title if the event is a ‘Conversation’ or a ‘Lecture’
• Event subtitle, description, date and time, location
• Event zoom link
The assets done for the event section launch of this website are located in this DropBox folder..
Send Email Campaigns
‘Email Campaign’ is Squarespace’s fancy word for what used to be called ‘Newsletter’ or ‘News Blast’. This tutorial teaches you how to send out a newsletter to the Graduate Center’s Listserv email list.
Broken links
A well-crafted 404 page is more than just an error message – it’s an opportunity to keep visitors engaged when something goes wrong. Instead of leading users to a dead end, a thoughtful 404 page can guide them back to useful content, reflect the brand’s personality, and even spark a smile. The Leon Levy Center for Biography uses a particularly clever approach: its 404 page features a headline built from all the letters in the organization’s name – a creative nod to its literary mission and attention to language.
